All website packages come with the WordPress CMS installed, which means that you are able to easily add as many pages and content as you like using only your web browser – no need to know or learn any code! It’s as easy as typing a letter in Microsoft Word.

The Design Process

Our website design process is simple, yet allows for each of the essential steps required to deliver a beautiful and effective website that attracts and converts potential customers into buyers and loyal fans of your brand.

 

Here’s what you can expect from the first moment you contact us:

1. Information Gathering Phase

In the initial phases of the design process we focus on gathering as much information about you, your company and your intended purpose for the website so that we can deliver an end product that not only meets, but exceeds your expectations.

We know that for many small business owners explaining exactly what you want in a website is not easy – afterall, it’s not something you do every day. It is, however, something that we do every day!

Don’t worry – the information gathering process is simple. We ask some basic questions either in person or over the phone. For an idea of the types of things we ask, see our web design briefing document.

 

2. Design Phase

In the 3 to 7 days following our initial conversation, we start designing the structure of your website. We will make a wireframe drawing of the site that includes the main pages and content that you require on each.

Obviously the more information you can provide to us the easier it is for us to design something that you will like. If you’re not sure though, we will guide you through the process and give you our opinion of what will work for your type of industry.

3. Build Phase

As soon as we have got a rough design on paper, we will start to build something based on all the things we’ve learned about you and your business. You can expect this phase to be complete within 10 days of first contacting us.

4. Review Phase

Once we have built a website that we think matches your requirements, and includes all the essential elements of a successful website, we will contact you and give you access to the site for you to review.

This is your opportunity to tell us what you like about the website, what you don’t like and what you would like changed, tweaked or deleted. Don’t worry – we have thick skin, so we won’t be offended!

Our goal is to deliver something that you are totally satisfied with, so we will work tirelessly until you are happy. Of course some changes are easier than others, and some design elements have an impact on other areas of the website – such as how easily your site is found on Google – so we will always explain the benefits and potential traps of anything you ask us about and then make changes based on your informed decisions.

5. Go Live

When both of us are satisfied that the website is ready for a public launch we will publish it to the internet on your domain.  This normally happens within 2 weeks of your initial enquiry.

As soon as the site is live we will do a thorough check of all links and design elements to make sure that we didn’t miss anything. It’s a great idea for you to do the same, and to ask some of your staff, family or friends to also have a look to make sure that everything is working as it should.

6. Training and Documentation Handover

Your brand new website is finished and live on the internet.

The last phase of the process is where we give you all the information you require to manage the website – usernames, passwords, URLs for the admin page, etc.

We will invite you to meet with us for a personalised training session, or we can just give you a user manual that outlines the steps for managing a WordPress website.

7. Ongoing Maintenance and Support

One of the biggest benefits of a WordPress website is the fact that you, the business owner, can manage the site easily on your own without the need for expensive maintenance plans from unscrupulous website designers (the old way!). This doesn’t mean that we will leave you stranded with no support!
